Q&A: Ultimate Edition

In classic tumblr-esque fashion, in September 2011, I decided to take the various characters from my various works and projects and let people ask them questions via the comments. It was... honestly, a bit embarrassing, but in the interest of transparent preservation, I still have all the 4 pages I made for this pointless endeavor, and so here they are in full cringe glory.

I'll probably need to annotate some of these responses in order for them to make sense, won't I? I won't be annotating most of the Kirby Adventure-related questions, since once that comic gets uploaded here, they'd wind up answering themselves, so the annotations being here would be a bit redundant. These annotations will assume that you've read through the other comics and at least understand who the characters are and the stories that they come from.

Anyways, here's one thing worth annotating: the list of comics I was accepting questions for. Thanks to Q&A Ultimate, this is the only remnants I have of any visual representation of what Pokémon The Ultimate Adventures looked like, as well as a record of "LP Pokémon Black" existing at all.

"LP Pokémon Black" was a 3-page one-off comic that was meant to sort of be like a Nuzlocke comic, but without the Nuzlocke. Basically, a rendition of Me, playing through my first time of Pokémon Black. I chose a Snivy that I named Cyzan and that was as far as I got, picking my starter and naming him. I invited two artist friends of mine to play alongside me, and they made the other two pages of the comic, one each.

I don't have any of those 3 comic pages anymore, and while I could probably have found the page I made eventually if I looked hard enough, the other two pages are most certainly lost to time, and trying to reupload the comic without those two pages wouldn't have felt right. The comic never progressed anywhere because not only was it not interesting to me to make comics for it, but at the time I also didn't care for Pokémon Black and stopped playing the game pretty quickly, too. (Don't worry, I soon learned the error of my ways, Gen 5 is my favorite generation nowadays.)

Alright, let's annotate the questions that I need to, starting with Alienoid's from panel 2. My Game: Play was essentially another Let's Play-esque comic, where Alienoid and 1ce_k1d, two Smack Jeeves users, had their author characters sucked into an NES and were tasked with playing through Mega Man games. They played the stages in the actual games, and then turned how they played the stages into comic pages, with a characterization twist. I got invited to join it midway through their playthrough of Mega Man 1, so I created "Mega Ulti" as a sona to use for the game, and gave them a recording of me playing the stages they wanted me to play, and comments I made during the playthrough. Alienoid then turned this into comic pages featuring me. Hence, I was involved with the comic of My Game: Play, but it wasn't really 'mine' enough for me to think was worth including in this Q&A side-thing.

contradiction123's question for Talzo from Kirby Adventure was an unfortunate circumstance of me having to give away some spoilers in order to have a character answer in-character. Realistically, in order to preserve the twist I had planned for Talzo's characterization, I should've just done a meta lie with this, but at the very least, so very few people bothered to read this Q&A thing that it never really wound up actually spoiling anybody on the twist that Talzo got kicked out of the Kirby Adventure Squad for false information.

Jarkes, the commentator, submitted his own character of Jarkes, a Biospark, to Kirby Adventure. Kaxo met the character of Jarkes, so when asked a question by the user Jarkes, he (semi-correctly) assumed that the user and the character were the same Jarkes. It's a bit meta and a bit confusing.

Interestingly, this seems to have been written after I decided that Xenali and Yoshi weren't dating, but before I decided that they'd be siblings, based on Xenali's answer to BlagH's question.

Anyways, thankfully that's it for this little embarrassing endeavor. Unlike with most of my other projects, I don't really have any fond feelings towards this one. I'm glad it didn't last long.
