Mario Icarus
Back in 2010, I was tasked by my English teacher as a homework project to... do something with a myth. It was a class project thing, where, I believe, students were assigned Greek or Roman mythology and they were to act it out in the class, probably? Put on a slideshow, a performance, a dramatic reading, etc, I imagine.
Except, in 2010, I was sick with Lyme Disease, and spent that entire year home-schooled, with some of the high school teachers serving as my personal tutors as well. Since I was sick, I couldn't put on any sort of performance, so I believe I asked about making a comic about a myth instead. My teacher loved the idea, so I was to now make a comic adaptation of a myth and print it out for her to share in the classroom.
The end result of this homework assignment was me making this silly, Mario 3-esque version of the myth of Daedalus and Icarus. Aka, the whole "don't fly too close to the sun" thing.
I actually thought this thing was lost to the aether, since I couldn't find it in my personal files anywhere, but thanks to some Photobucket finagling, I stumbled across it while looking for other files on my old-ass account there. I don't know WHY they were on my Photobucket, since these comics weren't ever really released publicly anywhere, but I'm certainly not complaining about lost media turning out to not be lost. Anyways, enjoy an 8th grade class project turned Mario-themed.
