You know those feelings where it's like you wake up in the middle of the night and remember one random cringe thing you did in high school and then it keeps you up at night?

This is that for me, except it was middle school and I spent a month on this segment. It's not immediately evident why, but hoo boy, Tear in the Fabric... This was a segment, all right.

For now, the primary thing to address is that this page is based on the opening cutscene of 2010's Kirby's Epic Yarn game for the Wii. Since my timeline for Kirby games within the comic had led all the way up to Super Star Ultra, I wanted to show more recent Kirby titles' stories happening within the comic itself, every so often. The first one of these stories was Epic Yarn's.

So, the character of Yin-Yarn here is the main bad guy of Epic Yarn. He hails from Patch Land, and has a magical portal to it within the sock around his neck. Yin-Yarn himself is actually the pair of knitting needles, while the yarn body is a manifestation of the entity within the needles. Yin-Yarn's plan was to turn all of Dream Land into yarn, which normally he does in-game, but Kaxo here interrupted his conquests immediately.

Most of the dialogue was referenced from the opening cutscene of Epic Yarn, specifically "Down the hatch" and "That's my magic Metamato". The sequence of events is also accurate to the game version, though the game follows Kirby as he enters Patch Land, rather than lingering on Yin-Yarn like it does here.

A lot of you were surprised that Kirby didn't know what Banai was, implying KA takes place before Mass Attack. I've gotta ask, why? The comic started a year before Epic Yarn, so it's following the same basic timeline as the canon games. Just... with differences. Hence, uh, what you see above.

Also, for the Yin-Yarn sprites, those are 100% custom made by me. Feel free to use them, they're over on the Kirby Spriters' Resort or whatever it's called.

Omg my two favourite Kirby games in one yessssssssssssss

During Kirby's Epic Yarn, Yin-Yarn starts making fake Waddle Dees to conquer Dream Land with, which for a period of time fools King Dedede. Since the knitting needles could make semi-sentient copies of characters and creatures, it felt appropriate to do so with my own characters.

What I learned at a later point was that 'keito' in Japanese, somehow out of all coincidence, is an actual real word in Japanese and not just a name I made up, AND it happens to mean 'knitting wool'. I couldn't have planned this better if I tried, I accidentally made a yarn copy out of a character I accidentally named after yarn.

I FINALLY got past the Shiver Star factory level in Kirby 64... About time, too. Surprisingly, the last section, with the advancing electrified walls, wasn't too difficult compared to the crushing ceiling part immediately before it. Maybe it was because the electrified walls actually moved pretty slowly. Now I just have HR-H/HR-E, the three Ripple Star levels, Miracle Matter (that should be fun...), and 02... Also, I beat Zero from Dream Land 3 a while ago, but I have yet to master the minigame rush, the jumping minigame, and the Boss Butch. In fact, on the Boss Butch, I died at Pon & Con... Yeah, something tells me I'm not going to be getting 100% on that one, especially given how much trouble Ado gave me in the main game, WITH animal friends and abilities...

This page was huge. If I were to keep it normally visible, it would have needed to be resized horizontally to fit within the site layout.

The problem being, however, I didn't keep any original PSD of this recap page. I did NOT want to rewrite the whole thing just so that it'd fit within the site layout, so now instead I replaced the visible page with this little header thing instead.

Tear in the Fabric was, all-along, a fake-out segment that was intended to look like it'd be focused on something Epic Yarn-related, when in actuality, what I was planning was this really-dumb-in-retrospect alternative misadventure. Meet Etam: my 'evil' opposite.

This segment was intended as a fanservice-y, silly comic appealing to the side of webcomic readers that enjoy more author-centric, self-insert style of content. It's a vibe that's really ubiquitous among sprite comics especially, but a lot of webcomics in general. Basically, playing up the creator as their own character. It's a subject I already touched upon when first talking about my 'authorsona' of Ultimate Kirby back in the To the Tower annotations.

What I decided to do here was to give my own sona a rival, a version of myself that had less inhibitions about what he said, what stories they'd tell, and how he'd react. It was incredibly meta, and exceedingly unfitting for the tone and vibe that the entire rest of Kirby Adventure had been setting up thus far. Maybe for another comic, it would've been silly but fine, but here? It was utterly ridiculous and ripped apart a lot of people's suspension of disbelief.

How I did this story was that I, as myself, pretended to not know or understand what was going on, while I made an alternative account on the Smack Jeeves site to roleplay as Etam himself. It was goofy, and playing myself as a character made it difficult to get some readers on-board with the whole thing. It wasn't particularly clear for some, and for others it was too clear to the point where they couldn't roll with it, because of course I knew what was going on, I was making the damn comics, why am I pretending otherwise?

Some people did still quite like the segment, but looking back, it's just a goofy cringey mess that, if nothing else, didn't belong in Kirby Adventure. But it did at least create Etam, who went on to be a bit of a fun character to write for.

This segment alone was also one of the biggest reasons why I wanted to preserve Kirby Adventure's comments sections, and to display the comic in this particular way on this new Neocities site. It acknowledged interruptions like the Brief Recap anniversary thing in-comic, it made use of the comments sections itself, half of this segment WAS the comments and without them, it'd be even less sensible. While it may be cringe to me, it's just as deserving of proper preservation as any of the other KA segments, so, it partially dictated the treatment of every segment as a result of its quirks. So it also had that going for it, too, without this segment I may have been a little more willing to lose out on the comments sections before they were lost forever.

No one is reading your comment because your idea is stupid. Bringing Keeby back to life with the Ghost ability would make his sacrifice pointless, much like DC Comics bringing Barry Allen back to life nearly twenty years after his sacrifice in Crisis on Infinite Earths.

I like Keeby too, and wish Nintendo would give him some more love, since the only time he officially appeared was in Kirby's Dream Course, and even then, he was only named in the Japanese version. But spamming the comment pages and whining about how you're ignored isn't going to help your case. It's just going to get you blocked.

Also, haven't you paid attention to how Ulti works? He updates the quick links when all of the major characters of the arc have been introduced, and not a moment before.

I apologize. We normally don't treat new guys this way. I was just exhausted from finishing final exams and wasn't thinking clearly. And, now that I think about it, bringing Keeby back with the Ghost ability could work, if it were established that he was just a ghost and wasn't actually alive again. Maybe he could possess an enemy to once again save Kirby or something. ...Perhaps he could be a way to set up a major plot point. You know, one of those "expository spirit" type characters. Still, Ulti usually doesn't listen to fan ideas for story arcs. He tries to come up with everything himself. I should know: I had an idea for the story once, but he rejected it, for the reasons I just stated.

The jist of Tear in the Fabric was mostly just gonna be Etam goes around, messes with the characters, until I'd enter the comic myself to stop him. To that extent, he needed to be a bit of a bad guy, but in being me, I also wanted him to be entertaining and charming.

I called him my 'evil opposite' a lot, before leaning into calling him 'me but without inhibitions', but he wasn't ever really quite me, nor was he an opposite. Etam always was just another character, because realistically, even if you did want to write for someone who's meant to be opposite to yourself in every capacity, it'd still wind up being a meta form of roleplaying a caricature of yourself.

That's really what Etam wound up being: a character who was a caricature. He has elements of me, for sure, but since "goodness" and "evilness" are subjective (especially when it comes to a pseudo-depiction of a real-life person, in this case Myself), the interpretation I went with for 'evil' was mostly just "how does he react to the comic itself". Thus, Etam's role was to be antagonistic by messing with a lot of comic fundamentals.

He'd take digs at the characters, at my writing, and at the readers, in such a way that solely would benefit the dumb plot I was trying to tell here. Essentially, he did whatever I deemed necessary for the writing as a plot device, rather than being a character first.

Also worth noting: Yes, he does speak with a different font in every panel. I don't really know why I decided to do that, but I sure as hell did it. The last panel's "magic word" thing was also just me keymashing, it doesn't mean anything.

Saia's backwards dialogue reads: "...oww... what just happened...?"
"...why do I feel so... weird? I'm confused..."
"...wait, what?"

Etam's name and design came from pretty obvious and basic methods of "evil-ifying" my own authorsona. Since my sona went by Ultimate Kirby for this comic, I flipped the name to come up with Ybrik Etamitlu. And since I often shortened my username to just the Ulti part of Ultimate, I shortened his to just the Etam part of Etamitlu.

His colors were just my Kirbysona's colors with an inversion effect applied, but then since inversion flips light colors with dark colors and vice versa, I color-corrected the result in order for the shadows to still make sense. So Etam is a pseudo-invert of the Ultimate Kirby palette: the colors are inverted, but not the shades.

Aside from the cringe, I think I'm most disappointed with this segment because of the lost potential of a story revolving around Epic Yarn content. While Kirby was always going to get sucked into Patch Land like he did, the possibilities of shenanigans with the rest of the Squad back in Dream Land was extremely promising, and the first 4 pages of this segment are a bittersweet glimpse at what could've been, had I not gone through with a tone-breaking, immersion-breaking, meta tale about authorsona in-fighting.

Spanish Keito's line of dialogue translates to "Ohh, my head... It hurts a lot."

Another disappointing thing about this segment is, frankly, I don't take good advantage of the opportunities present, either. I went in with a plan to have Etam mess with my characters, but got so focused on getting my own sona in there to fight with Etam that I didn't really spend much time at all on the affected characters.

To that extent, all of the changes Etam makes are extremely superficial and generic. Vezo becomes mole-like and feral, Raize just screams, Saia speaks backwards, Kaxo... says 'bwop', and Keito speaks Spanish.

What could've been potentially interesting character dynamics and perhaps interesting inversions of character behaviors (Vezo and Kaxo swapping roles in the violent bully/meek and inexperienced dynamic, just as one example), it gets ignored and instead I just don't do anything with it. It's clear that that wasn't where my interest was, which is disappointing.

Instead, the segment just focuses on Etam, who is essentially the Villain Protagonist of the segment. He was too show-off-y, and stole the show both regularly and in terms of how I wrote the segment. I got too focused on Etam that I neglected the potential of the rest of the segment, which means that I never go far enough with the idea I had.

Thus, it hinders everything. If I was gonna do all of this at all, I needed to go all-in, so that I could at least say I made the most of the opportunity. Instead, I tunnel visioned, and then later backed down too strongly when the backlash against this segment's direction became too unignorable. In the end, it meant that nobody was happy: people who didn't like it already didn't like it, and people who did like it didn't get as much out of it as they might've otherwise gotten.

Hey, guys, I just beat 02 in Kirby 64! GO ME! ...While 02 wasn't exactly a cakewalk, he was a HECK of a lot easier than Miracle Matter. For comparison, it took me about 15 tries (possibly more; I wasn't really counting) over the course of a couple weeks for me to beat Miracle Matter. It only took me 4 (I actually was counting there) tries over the course of 14 hours (My first couple tries were around 9 PM last night; my final try was an hour ago) to beat 02.

Yeah, part of the challenge (and fun) of Miracle Matter is that you can't just use an uberpowerful Combo ability to quickly drain his health like all the other bosses. You HAVE to use his projectiles from each form against each form to beat him. The Bomb form (the purple bubbles) was the hardest to avoid.

"Hammer to the Face" was a bit of a classic "Ulti Line" of mine from back in the day. In 2011-2012, the original iteration of my YouTube side series, The Skrawlers, was going on. Linked on the left side of the site there, the Skrawlers was a Smash Bros. series with me and my friends simply recording ourselves playing Smash games online and having fun.

One of my frequently-played characters back then, in Brawl, was Kirby himself. Kirby's special side attack was a hard-hitting (but highly telegraphed) Hammer move, where he'd swing a hammer and deal a lot of damage and knockback to whoever might've been hit with it. Since I was in a bit of a "catchphrase" era back then, I started a running gag of me shouting "Hammer to the face!" whenever I successfully hit somebody with it, even if it wasn't actually to the character's face.

Since it was a Kirby-based move and I was intending my authorsona to, of course, be me, it really just made sense to have that be one of my sona's own "attacking moves".

Hey, I'm watching your Yoshi's Island LP from the beginning, and I'm at part 4 (when you originally got to Burt the Bashful's Fort), but... Part 4 won't start. All the other videos will start, but this one won't. And after waiting a while, it says "Video unavailable." What's going on?

Yeah, the weird thing is, I just started part 29, and you actually say that those watching SHOULD view the earlier LPs, though I presume it doesn't necessarily mean the original Yoshi's Island videos. Fortunately, I've watch a few parts of the original YI videos, the NiDL LP, the Super Mario Star Road LP, and the KDL2 LP, so I have a pretty good feel as to how much your videos have changed.

So, did only the GBA version of Yoshi's Island add extra instruments to the world map music every few worlds? Because, in World 4 in your videos, the world map music still sounds the same as it did in World 1 (just much softer given the better sound editing). But in the GBA version (which I used to have a physical copy of, then got rid of once the GBA Ambassador games came out), after every odd number world (I think; it's been a while), more instruments would be added to the music.

The GBA version of Yoshi's Island actually decreased the quality of the songs. They sound better in the SNES version, apparently.

Yeah... and come to think of it, I remember watching a playthrough of the SNES version a while back where the music DID change every few worlds...

The GBA version also ruined the Fuzzy effect by removing the smearing effect, and the movement of the ground is a lot more choppy. Possibly because the GBA doesn't have the Super FX chip. It doesn't change colors either, instead having a brighter tint applied to it.

...Does it bother you that Nintendo never bothered to released the SNES version on the Wii Virtual Console? And apparently, the GBA version being on the Ambassador program was to "make up for that." Never mind the fact that the GBA Ambassador games will never be available to the general public, and they could've easily "made up" for not releasing the SNES version on the VC by RELEASING THE SNES VERSION ON THE VC. I mean, Earthbound at least has the music copyright thing as a convenient excuse for them not to release it, but YI does not.

Does pwn literally mean exactly what just happened?

A lot of real world delays when making pages for this segment made it so that scenes would frequently swap around. The illusion was that when irl time passed, so too did time in the comics, in a sense.

In actuality, alongside it being near the end of the school year and thus a likely busy time for me, I was also likely just monitoring how people were reacting in the comments, to gauge where to keep writing new pages and how.

Also, after a long while of near-constant daily or every-other-day updates for the comic, 2012 was the year where I finally started to update at a more reasonable pace. It helped that people stopped complaining every time I didn't update for a day, too.

This is a good page as an example of why this segment made no real sense in the long run.

For a logistical reason, I was always the author of the comic. I created Etam, so outside of wanting to just tell this story, there was never any reason that I, myself, couldn't just revert any changes made whatsoever.

Unlike a scenario such as the Internet-classic of Animator vs. Animation, where a stick figure doodle fights against the mouse cursor of the artist who drew him, the problem here is that there was no clear reason why my representation couldn't just fix things more easily, and had to manually chase down Etam. Even within the logic of itself, the metatext just doesn't work. It's the problem with taking an idea based on tonally inconsistent, nonsensical sprite comics of days' past: you wind up with something tonally inconsistent and nonsensical.

For an emotional reason, though, Etam himself just randomly decided to insult the comic and readers in this page. I did so because I wanted the narrative around Etam to shift from "a well-meaning bad writer", someone who just thinks he's better and wants to help in his own shitty way, to "this shit all sucks and I'm burning it to the ground, losers". It's a bit of a shift that came out of nowhere for how Etam was behaving earlier and how the comic was treating him.

It's an instance where I needed him to be an antagonist, so I had him be more insulting because it's what the plot demanded, rather than working out a plot around how I was writing the character.

Again, ultimately, this segment is just a failure on all accounts.

Since one of the few times I had ever broken the fourth wall actively in the comic before involved Shat'l and his psychic abilities and foreknowledge, using him to wrap up the segment was a no-brainer. Since fan backlash was becoming clearer, I wanted to end things quickly, so I transitioned over to Shat'l who was always going to be a sort of 'ace in the hole' type of character.

In the end, I think this just helped add proof to the pile that Shat'l was overpowered and immersion-breaking himself.

Etam wasn't actually angry or anything in the last panel, just confused. Since I was using a new font for every panel, though, it unintentionally made him look like he was incredibly peeved, when in reality that's just what that font looked like and I didn't think anything of it at the time.

Where is the explanation that Ulti hasn't used his author powers against Etam? Seriously, I don't wanna be annoying but there are a lot of plot holes I can find in this chapter, and I can't seem to find any explanation for them. But if that's on purpose, at least tell me, cause I am getting really annoyed, since finding these plot holes is making me think of this chapter as full of nonsense with no reason or meaning at all... I just... Wanna understand...

I will have no sympathy for Talzo

Vegetable Valley is the opening stage of Kirby's Adventure and its remake, Nightmare in Dream Land. Back during the Beginning, I used tilesets from Kirby Super Star Ultra's stages to remake Vegetable Valley Stage 1 in the KSSU visual style, so I had a few more areas to work with for backgrounds.

The large dragon tank comes from a minigame in Kirby Mass Attack. It's one of many different bonus animations for an overpowered super move that Kirby can perform in an RPG-parody minigame called Kirby Quest. Kirby simply drives the tank over the enemies in that game, but here I repurposed it as a "fix Etam" button.

The Kabuki copy ability is based on some sort of Japanese theater aspect of their culture. It's a copy ability that came from a very niche, 3D-animated bonus episode of the 2D-animated Kirby anime, a bonus short that aired like 5 years after the original anime concluded. This bonus short was the only time the Kabuki ability appeared for many years, until it too showed up in the aforementioned Kirby Quest as another randomly chosen animation for one of Kirby's Super Moves. The power simply shoots a laser in that game, which is what it does here when my authorial powers give it to Shat'l to use and save the day.

This page also highlights once more how awkward this whole idea was. Why do I bother standing around just explaining everything to Etam? Why was I "trying to maintain a logical plot"? Why does Etam just stand there and accept defeat? It's really unsatisfying, logically and emotionally both.

Mass Attack and KSSU sprites work surprisingly well together. Kirby Quest illustrates this quite well in its enemy sprites.

And the dragon tank is from Mass Attack as well. It's one of the possible results for an "Awesome" in Kirby Quest.

Those three comments are all from me

Shadik got to keep his memory of everything because he both wouldn't be able to ever tell anyone anyway, and also because he's mentally made of sterner stuff than the other characters, so he wasn't very fazed by everything to begin with.

One of the advantages of me using a memory wipe, though, was that it meant that this was a very skippable segment. It basically was always intended to be as little canon-affecting as possible, which was definitely the right call. If it didn't impact anything in the long run or the short run and was just a goofy thing, it could easily be seen as non-canon, and aside from Kirby's adventures through Kirby's Epic Yarn, absolutely zero things of importance occurred here.

Give the Dragon Tank to Kaxo, to make up for all the chaos he wasn't able to cause.

In Kirby's Epic Yarn, Kirby manages to undo the damage done to Patch Land by Yin-Yarn with the help of Prince Fluff, the native ruler of Patch Land (who looks like a blue yarn Kirby with a crown). Since the actual events of Kirby's Epic Yarn would be unchanged in this comic while they were within Patch Land, the only real differences between Kirby's adventure in game-canon vs KA-canon is that King Dedede and Meta Knight didn't also get sucked into Patch Land and possessed to fight Kirby.

Since Kirby managed to make it out of Patch Land no matter what, he was always gonna make it back out of the sock portal. In Epic Yarn, that would result in the final world, where Yin-Yarn successfully converted Dream Land to yarn, and Kirby travels through familiar yarnified locales like Whispy Woods and Castle Dedede before fighting and defeating Yin-Yarn personally.

But since Kaxo burned Yin-Yarn himself in Page 1, Kirby's adventure simply ended with an anticlimax as he emerged. This, however, resulted in this really awkward page.

It's awkward because of how it depicts Kirby. Like I said in Jetting Across the Ice and Tree to Tree, this was a period of time when Kirby was just too disgruntled and easily-angered. Kirby stumbled across his unconscious and potentially-injured friends, and instead of trying to help or worry, he just ignores them and makes an annoyed quip at their expense. It's a rude step down the road of him becoming more and more unlikeable, and it still takes a bit for him to get better.

Hoo, boy. Now that Tear In The Fabric is officially FINISHED, I've got a heck of a lot to talk about. Staying 'in-character' with the shenanigans going on in the comic didn't allow me to specifically comment like I normally do on the comics, so this is gonna take a while, talking about my feelings on this segment. I have a feeling a lot of you want to know what the heck this was all about.


ALRIGHT. So, this segment I have had planned out since around Jetting Across The Ice. I had the idea of Etam, my 'evil opposite', and I had the idea of him coming in and screwing with the characters and comic. I was also really looking forward to it.

When the time came to actually put the plan into motion, I was super excited. I had no real development for how Etam would act, nor did I know any of the details of the segment. What I did know was that I was going to be making the segment up as I went along.

The appearance of Yin-Yarn at the very start was to create the illusion that this would be an Epic Yarn segment where we got to see what the gang got up to while Kirby was stitching up Patch Land.

The name of the segment was quite clever in my opinion. Tear In The Fabric further supports the Epic Yarn segment illusion, but the real meaning is this: Etam is creating a tear in the fabric of the comic's reality, ripping through the fourth wall and messing with everything.

And now, the REAL kicker. Time to talk about Etam himself.

Etam, or Ybrik Etamitlu, was an idea created a long time ago while I was fooling around with my friends in a Skype chatroom. Immediately after, I had the idea to have Etam mess with the comic in a manner similar to that of Discord from MLPFIM.

Etam's mannerisms were created on the spot. I particularly like the overuse of 'you dig'. I don't know why, I just do.

Here's various quirks and trivia about Etam that people may or may not have figured out:
Etam's colorations is a partial invert of Ultimate Kirby's colors, only fixed to make the lighter colors in the center and the darkers near the edges of the sprite.
Etam's name is the reverse of Ultimate Kirby. NOT Ultimate Yoshi.
He spoke with different text in every speech bubble, for literally no particular reason whatsoever.
The Ybrik Etamitlu Smack Jeeves profile was created a day early, and discovered by Gigi19972010 before he showed up in Part 5. I deleted the comment but commended her in a PM for discovering him.
Etam's SJ profile was created and run by myself. Some people thought he was a friend of mine irl, and some thought he was a hacker somehow. Don't know how this was so hard to figure out, but ETAM IS ME. I even drew his profile picture!
Speaking of profile pictures, the backgrounds of both mine and Etam's have the other's colors as a gradient.
Etam's first magic word, axayzncavja, was originally gibberish I put in his Smack Jeeves profile description. I decided to use it in the comic itself.
I gave Etam a lot of tildes in his comments.

Etam's personality was a bit hard to write for, and also easy at the same time. It was hard at first, but when I decided what he embodied, it became really easy.

Basically, Etam represents the part of myself that just wants all hell to break loose. There have been times when I've just wanted to screw plot and go crazy, and Etam was the first chance I could do so with a good reason.

Etam loves to have fun, and be ridiculous. His antics were really entertaining for me to write, especially in the comments.

Etam was also written to be LIKED. Etam was silly, entertaining, and appealing. At least, in my opinion. It came across as a huge surprise the dislike he received. But that's for later.

Something I found interesting about Etam is that he isn't really evil at all. I discovered halfway through this segment that he was doing this because he LIKED the comic. Right in his very first speech bubble, he's commending me on my characters. He does it again before he inverts the background. Etam caused the mayhem because he LIKED the comic, and wanted to 'improve' it however he could for a short while.

So, when it came to insulting you guys and myself, as well as the comic, in part 14, that was incredibly out-of-character for him.

Now... Tear In The Fabric was originally going to be so much more than it turned out. The 'etam-ized' characters were gonna have a lot more appearances, Etam was gonna have a big author-to-author fight with myself, he was gonna do a lot more stuff than he ended up doing. The segment was also going to be around 30 or so parts. Why did I cut out so much?

Cause of you guys.

This was really a fan-driven segment, sorta. This segment was created originally for fan ENJOYMENT. However, while it did receive some positive response, the negative fan response was surprisingly high as well. Specifically, this one commenter called Simon Deku, I believe, was the most vocal.

It's because of the people who wanted Etam gone from the start that the segment was cut shorter than I had planned originally.

So, I cut short the segment. That's really all that's had to be said about that, now.

AS FOR THE REST OF THIS, time to talk about the individual comics after Part 4, where I started getting 'in-character'.

Part 5: I'd just like to point out that Etam's crack in the background disappears immediately after he jumps out of it.

Part 6: This is the only time that when a character was zapped they got special effects added to them.

Part 7: Etam's train of thought was exactly what I was thinking when I was making this comic.

Part 8: I like how all the Kirbies in the last panel, save for Raize, are looking in slightly differing directions. Also, I like Etam's pose in panel 2.

Part 9: Bwop.

Part 10: This comic was created with a touchpad in the sunlight, where I could barely see. I was a bit lazy with effects on this comic. Also, Caiya turning into a donut was a last-minute decision.

Part 11: SKRAWLERS QUOTE FOR THE WIN.

Part 12: I enjoyed referencing all the way back to Escape. Neona's an awesome character to write for.

Part 13: The return of Ryka and Satomi! Haven't seen them since From Dream Adventures. Also, referencing how Hali wanted some of the hallways of the KASHQ painted, first seen in Average Days. Ryka also has a severe soda addiction. I also commend Satomi on barely flinching at all due to the chaos around her.

Part 14: Wake appears in the back of panel 2, referencing his odd appearance there way back in Escape. Also, the blur in the fore/backgrounds is there because we're seeing these first two panels at the speed Etam and Ulti are running at.

Part 15: Only Meliai shook alongside the medical center when Etam landed. Shadik and Shat'l stood totally still. :I

Part 16: Etam wasn't meant to sound angry in the last panel, the text just made it seem that way. Also, this begins Shat'l and my plan for getting rid of Etam. I had Shat'l suggest to Etam to go after Talzo to get him in a more open area for the Kabuki.

Part 17: Originally, the dragon tank was gonna be the Kirby tank, but BattleStarX had just been using it and I didn't want to seem like I was copying. Also, Kabuki Shat'l is awesome. I also love the effect in the last panel.

Part 18: My dialogue in panel 2 was just to put the idea that Kabuki was Shat'l's Stored Ability to rest. It was just for getting rid of Etam, nothing more.

Part 19: KIRBY RETURNS. :D

Alright, I'm sick of typing. You guys are off the hook, for now...

Like I said, it was... Kind of too ilogical... To be honest, I have had already an idea of a chapter like that, but I gave up on it, because I am "obsessed by logic". In other words, I like explanations for EVERYTHING (look at 20TK's A Memorable Morning. Seriously, there is no better proof) and, in fact, I am really bugged because I haven't had enough of explanations for this chapter. Anywayyyyyyy, I am know I am an annoying person and the last three comments here I was just annoying you, but I am just like that, I hope you weren't hating me. :L

Example: Jarkes, being confronted by Ulti Etam probably said that because he doesn't want Ulti to think that he likes it. It is a common characteristic among chaotic neutral characters such as Etam to hide personal feelings.

as this is comic 299, i already thought of what comic 300 should be, it's known as cayia in donutland the only main characters seen are cayia(duh)and veso who appears at the end of the comic. the plot is that cayia has a dream that she is in a world made of donuts and at the end, cayia screams donus so loud that it can be heard around the galaxy.

This chapter was confusing...

More of my old art, yeesh.

I didn't want to start a new segment on Page 300, since I liked doing milestone stuff. But I also ended Tear in the Fabric semi-abruptly, so that people could stop complaining and I could move on to different stories without metatextual elements. I learned the lesson pretty quickly that there's a time and a place, and Kirby Adventure was just absolutely not the place for silly meta author shenanigans.

As a result, the timing just didn't really line up well for anything to be done for this milestone, aside from a quick splash page of art. So, art it was.
